Tributes to Two Who Have Shined Since 1995

Jim Monahan and Harry Schneider
Jim Monahan and Harry Schneider were honored at the Awards Banquet for their service to District 25 since 1995. Jim has been the District Parliamentarian and Harry the District Auditor. They have served their clubs, areas, division and districts well by their commitment to excellence.  2011-2012 was their last year filling these roles but they will continue to “Explore the Possibilities!” and they “Let their Light Shine!”.
Here are a few comments from Past District Governors who served alongside these two incredible and dedicated men.
I’m forever grateful for Harry’s and Jim’s willingness to help me shine during my term as District Governor; and I will always remember their friendship and unwavering dedication to serve the members of District 25.
 Ron Bland, *PDG 2001-2002
I have had the pleasure of working with Harry Schneider for six terms: 5 as the District 25 treasurer and 1 as the District 25 Governor. Harry has always been very professional and very diligent in his work. He is a quiet and gentlemanly man until it is time for the speech contests. At the speech contests Harry transforms himself into a professional speaker. He was won two recent District 25 contests. The District will miss the financial genius of this kind and good man. We will still see him in the contests, I bet! Thanks for the memories, Harry.
 Earl Hill, PDG 2006-2007
Jim Monahan is a parliamentarian extraordinaire. He sits quietly near the District Governor during the business meeting at each district conference paying close attention to what is going on to be sure each item is discussed and voted on by the rules of parliamentary procedure. Sometimes he does not have to say a word in a meeting to get his job done. Sometimes he has to explain the process several times during the course of a business meeting. Jim explains the motion and discussion process to the participants in the business meeting in a professional manner and a manner that is well understood by all. I would call Jim a “gentleman and a scholar.”
 Earl Hill, PDG 2006-2007
Harry Schneider and Jim Monahan both epitomized steadfastness, reliability and a quiet strength, during their many years of service to District Toastmasters.
 Maurice Taitt, PDG 2007-2008
After working with Harry when I was District Treasurer and District Governor, he become a dear friend and mentor whom I will always respect for the perfectionism and patience he demonstrated while auditing the district books. Thank you Harry.
 Peggy Holloway-May, PDG 2008-2009
Because of our long friendship, Jim was the only person on my short-list for District Parliamentarian and it was very comforting to have my dear friend and mentor by my side during the district business meetings. Thank you Jim.
 Peggy Holloway-May, PDG 2008-2009
I would like to personally thank Harry and Jim, two Toastmasters gentlemen for their tireless efforts not only during my District Governor year but for their many years of unyielding service to our District.
 David Martin, PDG 2010-2011
Jim was always a wealth of parliamentary and Toastmasters knowledge and a solid rock to lean on especially during District Council meetings.
 David Martin, PDG 2010-2011
Without having Jim Monahan by my side as the two District Council meetings I would probably never have run for District Governor. Our friendship is one of those added benefits of being a Toastmaster.
 Diana Patton, PDG 2011-2012
One thing I’ll never forget about Harry was when I visited his club, United Communicators, this last Toastmaster year for their 25th anniversary. He presented a booklet of the history of the club with details for each of the 25 years including member’s names as positions they held in the club as well as Area, Division and District. His attention to detail and pride in his work make him one of those amazing Toastmasters that I’ll never forget.
 Diana Patton, PDG 2011-2012
