Update to District 25 Business Due to COVID-19

Dear D25 Toastmasters:

Here in District 25, we take the health and wellbeing of our members and their families seriously.  As such we want to keep you up to date on changes that affect you.

Current changes to District 25 business:

  • Toastmasters International has temporarily lifted the policy to now allow all clubs to meet virtually.
    • The club should vote if they want to continue meeting in person.
      • If you continue to meet in person, please follow local health guidelines including contact.  You will need to modify the handshake.
    • Whatever the club decides we encourage you to not cancel meetings, but instead meet virtually using Zoom, Skype, WebEx, Teams, etc.
    • Make sure to engage and invite your Area Directors to your meetings.
    • If you have a Club Coach or Club Mentor – keep them involved as well.
  • Toastmasters International Board of Directors has decided that Area, Division, and District events can no longer be conducted in person, on or prior to June 1, 2020. Because of this:
    • No further Evaluation Contests will be held.
    • The remaining Area and Division International Speech contests will be virtual.
      • Logistical details to follow in a separate communication.
    • District 25 Annual Conference is cancelled.

More details will be provided in the future regarding the Annual Business Meeting and the District level International Speech Contest.

We know that this is a difficult time and your focus is being pulled in all directions. Use Toastmasters as your outlet.  Continue becoming a better you!  Continue to Celebrate!  Continue to support your fellow Toastmaster!  Remain healthy and look for more communication in the coming weeks.
