The word “lark” is defined as “a carefree or spirited adventure.”
Lark Doley, Region 3 Advisor Marketing, came to District 25 on March 9-10. Lt. Governor Marketing Dean Lampman and I had an adventure-filled two days with her.
Lark has been an inspiration to all the Region 3 districts. She was the first to be appointed to the position of Region 3 Advisor Marketing, which she has held for two terms. (More information on this role.)
Our day began early on Friday, March 9, with a corporate relationship visit to IBM. Several of the club officers were present to meet with us. We discussed the vision for the club and the plan to grow the IBM Talk Blue club.
We then went to Allstate in Irving to make a corporate award presentation. We were warmly greeted by members of the Inner Voice Toastmasters club as well as John Wesley, Senior Human Resources Manager.
We made our second corporate award presentation at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth. Members of all four Lockheed Martin clubs were present for the presentation ceremony. Joe LaMarca, Vice President, Communications at Lockheed Martin graciously received the award.
Our afternoon was filled with a visit to Sprint in Fort Worth and Stryker in Flower Mound. We hope to be chartering clubs at both these locations.
Our “Lark” continued on Saturday with Lark playing a key role in our quarterly training session with the Area and Division Governors, our annual Leadership Open House, and the quarterly Marketing Workshop.
Our time with Lark Doley was definitely “Golden.” She has been an incredible force in helping our District to “Let It Shine!”
