The March Madness is upon us. Teams that worked hard during the regular season have been rewarded and bracketed. While we are glued to the television sets to see if Baylor would make it to the Final Four or which top team will be sent home as an upset, like Duke, Kansas, or Mizzou, we thought it would be a great time to check the DCP progress of clubs in District 25.
The DCP year is July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012. Over eight months have gone by in the DCP year. Forty-one clubs in District 25 have gained the honor of being a Distinguished, Select Distinguished or President’s Distinguished Club. Congratulations to the area governors, club officers, and members of these clubs. These are not the official results published by Toastmasters International. These are our predictions based on the number of members and goals achieved as of March 12, 2012. Credit has also been given to clubs that had at least four officers trained during the summer and winter TLI’s. There are an additional 25 clubs that have accomplished at least five DCP goals, but have not met the membership requirement of at least 20 members or a net gain of five members (if the club was below 15 members on July 1, 2011).

If you think that becoming a Distinguished Club is beyond your reach this year, remember that Ohio ranked number 13, NC State ranked 11, and Xavier ranked number 10 have made it into the Sweet Sixteen. Did anyone bet on these teams in Las Vegas? Success requires focus on the goal, teamwork, and extra effort. You can do it, but please don’t wait until the final buzzer.
