Nationstar Speaks Turns One Year Old!
Nationstar Speaks recently celebrated their 1st Anniversary! And what a year! Debbie Rousseau, Charter Member and Toastmaster for the Anniversary Party, raised her cup and toasted: “We have all become friends on our journey to self-improvement. Anniversaries may come and they may go, but the pursuit of the perfect speech continues forever. May the warmth of our friendships survive the frosts of age. As we look forward to the New Year and events and contests that it will bring. Let’s drink to all we have accomplished in this past year!” After the President, Quineka Ragsdale, presented a history of events...
District 25 knows how to celebrate!
District 25’s annual Awards Banquet was a night of celebration. Over 200 members and guests didn’t let the heavy rains deter them from attending the District 25 Awards Banquet, “Celebrate Greatness with Gratitude”, Saturday, September 6. The care that goes into planning and executing that plan by the committee was evident in every detail. The Ridglea Country Club was selected nearly 9 months ago in anticipation of members, clubs, Areas, Divisions and Districts reaching and succeeding goals set at the beginning of the 2013-2014 Toastmaster year. Lots of hours go into making this evening such a huge success. When final...

Reflecting on Kuala Lumpur
Cindy, Jodie and I attended two days of intense leadership training mixed with interviews of the candidates running for International positions. We finished our days of training anticipating the start of the 83rd International Convention. It is the first convention held outside North America! This year’s opening flag ceremony is not one I will soon forget. Each District Governor was assigned a flag to carry into the assembly representing the 126 countries that have Toastmasters clubs. It was breathtaking! I was proud to be representing all of the members in District 25 as I carried the flag of Niger. Please...

Be Excellent and They Will Come
The Toastmaster Club distinguishes our organization from other communication and leadership programs. It is the method of delivery for learning and practicing our communication and leadership skills. Each club should remain focused on having consistently excellent meetings that provide an environment for achieving the club’s goals. Creating such a club culture will ensure individual and group success. If you have strong meetings, people will come! Invite everyone . . . your co-workers, family, and non-Toastmasters friends. Don’t forget about other Toastmasters that may benefit from joining another club! As you build the membership numbers in your club, you will gain...
