Two Clubs Celebrate Toastmasters 90th Birthday!
I’m a member of Roanoke Texas Toastmasters and Alliance Networks clubs in Area 53. We got into the spirit of things and celebrated Toastmasters 90th Birthday the week of October 20. Alliance Networks Club Roanoke Texas Toastmasters Club Both meetings were complete with birthday cakes (made by Sheila Richards and Glenda Curry). Each club had fun Table Topics questions and lots of trivia about Toastmasters history. Janet Walker’s speech at Alliance Networks meeting was ‘Still Kicking at 90!’ Sheila Richards at Roanoke Texas Toastmasters got us to thinking about what we would be doing in Toastmasters on the 100th birthday....

Employee Perk Fair Benefits Nationstar Speaks
Pictured is VP Education, Leonard Madison, and IPP Joyce Trimble, who were greeters at the Convergence site where Nationstar Speaks currently meets. Nationstar Mortgage recently held an Employee Perk Fair and Nationstar Speaks was represented at each of their 3 Lewisville/Irving sites. The VP Membership, Kevin Dickerson, organized time schedules for member volunteers. Guests to the tables were greeted with general information about Toastmasters and provided an opportunity to receive free chapter membership dues from a drawing. A winner was selected from each site. An email to all entries was delivered, thanking them for their interest and announcing the winners....

Toastmasters Adventure in London!!!
One of the most anticipated activities on my long list of sights to see and things to do during my recent trip to London was attending a Toastmasters meeting. I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to see how the locals lived and to experience Toastmasters in another culture – and my expectations were exceeded!! Gaining Strength
Nationstar Speaks’ Open House on October 1st, 2014 was the first step towards chartering an additional chapter at Nationstar Mortgage! Dana Dillard We distributed invitations to the Open House via email throughout the company and had 100+ attendees. At the Open House, we served pizza to those who RSVPd, compliments of the club’s champion, Dana Dillard. After Dana was introduced, she talked about the reasons Toastmasters was beneficial and encouraged the attendees to seriously consider joining. Spooky Style Open House!
Members of the specialty club Off the Cuff would like to see you at our ‘Spooky Style Open House’, Saturday, October 25th. We meet monthly at member’s homes and have a pot luck dinner at 6:00 PM and meeting at 7:00 PM. Progressive Leaders Is Moving Along!
The Progressive Leaders of Denton County Toastmasters Club Open House was held on Sept. 29, 2014 at the Landmark Grill in Lewisville. The Open House also coincided with the One Year Anniversary of the club.
