My visit to Toastmasters International
As we would be spending a few days in the Los Angeles area I decided to take a tour of Toastmasters International. While there I took a number of pictures as well. I started on the outside with the Toastmasters International sign and the wall that has Ralph Smedley, all of the International Directors and International Presidents. In the lobby is the Toastmasters International sign above which 52 country flags are in a row. These flags were donated by clubs. The Toastmasters mission is also in the lobby as well as two plaques with international speech winners. There is a...
District 25 Needs Your Eyes and Ears!
District 25 covers a very large geographical area. Within our District, there are so many under-served areas that could benefit from the Toastmasters program. Take a look at this map of District 25. There are a lot of areas that don’t have clubs and there is no way any one person can know about all those areas. That’s where YOU come in. District 25 needs your “eyes and ears.” . Are you a Toastmaster Evangelist like me? Has Toastmasters changed your life for the better? Are you a firm believer in the proven Toastmasters program? If so, then I need your “eyes and ears”...
How’s Your Brand?
Do you remember “rebranding”? Back in 2011, Toastmasters International changed its brand for the first time in 70 years, updating the logo, colors, fonts, imagery and messaging to make the Toastmasters identity clearer, and to increase awareness of its impact around the world and its focus on leadership. Here in District 25 our aim is that every club website will reflect the new branding and that each club will have a banner with the new logo. Does your club need new branded materials? One way to get them is to win them! Check this promotion out and see if your...

Proud Moments and Special Memories
Let me share a few special memories from the 2015 Toastmasters International Convention with everyone. Our district was well represented this year at the convention and those present were able to share in some proud moments for District 25. Chuck, Cindy and Jodie with Region 3 Advisor Monnica Lamb Jodie Sanders, Chuck Mencke and I spent three action-packed days in Las Vegas before the convention itself started. On Sunday, we interviewed almost all the candidates for International office. We felt quite well-informed about the merits of each one. Resistance to Training
I was looking forward to leaving the kids with my husband and spending my Saturday morning shopping with a friend. My excitement quickly turned to disappointment – “Ugh, I have Toastmasters’ Officers Training.” Since joining First Command Club #8487 in October, I have eagerly accepted any role. In that moment, however, I felt that I was pressured into running for Vice President of Education. I was unabashedly flattered when the acting VPE, Sabrina Walker, mentioned my organizational skills. Suddenly I was humming “All Hail the Chief,” and writing my acceptance speech for VPE. Now I was complaining it was consuming...
