Everyone Eats Well at North Texas Open House!
North Texas Toastmasters hosted our open house on March 5th. We had an advertising blitz and had enough food for two meetings. At the meeting two speakers were featured – an Icebreaker speech and a 10th speech, so this member finished a CC as well – two birds with one speech! There were 25 individuals present, including some rarely seen (but paid) charter members, current members and about 12 guests! Two guests fielded a table topic each and several guests indicated they wanted to return and possibly join. Fun was had by all. Russ Stukel VP...
Alliance Networks “Leaps into Action” at Successful Open House
We had a very successful club open house on February 28. Our club members put on a wonderful meeting for 13 guests and our Area Governor, Jill Morrison. Our guests were employees from companies in the Alliance Texas area. We had great food, good networking, guest speaker (Tom Pierce from Southlake) and learned lots about Toastmasters and benefits of the program. Our theme was “Leap into Action!” Our goal is to turn those guests into members! Diana Patton Alliance Networks By Jodie Sanders
Looking For a New Club
There are many reasons to look for a new club. Maybe you want an additional club for more speaking opportunities or an advanced club to improve your skills. For me, because of a change in my work location, it was no longer feasible to continue in my old club. Here are some easy steps to help you find your new club: 1. Use the Toastmasters International website (http://reports.toastmasters.org/findaclub/) to identify the clubs in the area where you are looking. 2. Talk to other Toastmasters to see what they know about the clubs. The area and division governors are also a...

GM Financial Has Great Demo Meeting
On Feb 21, GM Financial held a demo meeting that was so well attended that a wall had to be removed to expand the room! It was filled with supervisors who came to hear and see the benefits of Toastmasters for their public speaking skills. By the time the meeting ended, they had discovered that Toastmasters offers more than just speaking skills. One of the company’s supervisors shared his story in his Icebreaker speech. He was followed by District Sergeant At Arms James Hansen, who shared his Toastmasters transformation story. Lauren Midgley challenged two of the audience members to answer...
Southlake Holds Open House for Early Risers
The Southlake Toastmasters Club #4987 held an Open House on March 5, chaired by Eric Rose. Eric’s co-chairs were Mary Hansen, Inga Shivers and Kathleen Voormolen. Serving as Toastmaster was James Harding and the theme for the meeting was “Blessed and Thankful.” Southlake Toastmasters are early risers, as we meet every Monday morning at 7:00 am, which would lead one to believe we would have a hard time finding and keeping members. Contrary to belief, the club continues to retain and attract new members. This can be attributed to how well meetings are run and the drive to finish exactly...
