I keep hearing that each Toastmasters meeting must be high quality; that it must engage each member and guest. What exactly does this mean? The word “engage” means “to be involved with.” How does this translate to providing a high-quality meeting? I believe we can break it down this way: Enthusiasm – Being enthusiastic comes from being glad to be a part of Toastmasters and our particular club. It’s that time of the year to select and recognize D25’s best club websites. Is your club’s website ready to pass muster? Does your club have a website that other clubs can model? If so, then it’ll be considered for recognition at this year’s District 25 Spring Conference. The good news is that you don’t have to submit your club’s website for consideration. Enthusiasm and Energy Are High at Sprint
The District 25 Marketing Team presented an exciting sample meeting at the Sprint Headquarters in Fort Worth on Thursday, March 22. Approximately 30 future Toastmasters reveled in the high-energy meeting run by our Club Extension Chair, Jesse Torres. Assisting him in running the program were District Governor Diana Patton and District Sergeant at Arms James Hansen. Of course, we had an inside man, Jay Mayfield of Keller Communicators, who did the preparation at Sprint. Sheila Winfield, a Sprint employee, gave a wonderful Ice Breaker speech. Toastmasters March Madness: The Numbers Speak Loud and Clear
The March Madness is upon us. Teams that worked hard during the regular season have been rewarded and bracketed. District 25 Goes on a “Lark”
The word “lark” is defined as “a carefree or spirited adventure.” Lark Doley, Region 3 Advisor Marketing, came to District 25 on March 9-10. Lt. Governor Marketing Dean Lampman and I had an adventure-filled two days with her. Lark has been an inspiration to all the Region 3 districts. Demo Team Stops At City of Coppell
The City Council Chambers in Coppell was the latest stop for the District 25 Demo Team on March 14. The team used their best talents in taking the speaking skills and leadership message to staff members representing several departments from the City. Vivyon Bowman, Director of Human Resources, gave his Ice Breaker titled “My Life With the City of Coppell” and provided the audience with a short glimpse into his 28-year experience at the City. WBC Toastmasters Are Moving Forward
In October 2011, two members of Westside Baptist Church in Lewisville, Samanda Marshall and Sam Sutherland, ATM stepped out on faith to bring a new ministry opportunity to Westside. On November 12, 2011, the WBC Toastmasters conducted a pre-charter meeting with the help of District 25. Open House & Big Day for Soapbox Heroes!
