Connection Communicators Order the Open House/Golden Gavel Combo — And It’s Good
The Connection Communicators Toastmasters Club had a successful open house on March 21. The club posted flyers in the elevators and other common areas in the Nokia Siemens Networks building where the meetings are held and in other nearby buildings. The twelve guests were treated to pizza, two excellent speeches and evaluations, and Table Topics. Some of the guests answered Table Topics questions. ICE Breakers Toastmasters Club held a “Spring Into Action” Open House on March 22. We had a great turnout — 36 guests and 15 members. Various trophies and awards received by ICE Breakers members were displayed. Pizza, salad, and dessert were served for lunch. It’s the season to ‘Spring Ahead’! With that fitting theme in mind, the Las Colinas Communicators club opened its doors to guests, inviting them to spring ahead with the Toastmasters experience. On March 27, we opened house with the main attraction — a delicious spread of refreshments that included meat/veggie wraps, cream puffs, chips, fruits, cookies, candies and soft drinks. I had the best time talking about Toastmasters on Nina Tan’s “The Help Radio Talk Show” on March 19. (Nina is a member of ARBOR Toastmasters.) At the beginning, I felt that I might be a tad nervous, but then when the producer asked me to state my name into the mic for a sound check everything just calmed down and I was good to go.
