A First-Timer’s View

Ernestina Piñones, Amelinda Salas, and Cindy Hinckley
Attending this past Toastmasters International Convention was a great experience as a first-timer and new Area Governor.

My favorite part of the Convention was in applauding the members and Districts that had achieved their goals and seeing them being recognized for all their hard work. It was so wonderful to see our top District 25 leaders recognized and being part of a huge crowd cheering them on.

Throughout the Convention I could see more clearly how important each member is in every club. Whether members ever participate in Toastmaster activities beyond their clubs, their importance and presence resonates throughout the entire Toastmasters organization. Every membership renewal, every new educational achievement, and the efforts of every member to help others within and beyond their clubs makes a difference.

I hope that those in District 25 who have never imagined attending a Toastmasters International Convention will consider attending the next Convention in Orlando, Florida.
