DeAnna Wolf, President I had a good experience at Leadership Training today. I enjoyed the 3 classes I attended: Alternate Leadership – interesting class, panel discussion with District Leaders. Treasurer Class – I learned a few new things and...

Communicating With Members

One of the keys to our district’s well-being and success is including and engaging all our members. Open communication is a prime ingredient in keeping everyone informed and up to date on what is happening, what needs to happen and the opportunities that exist for them. This begins our interactive marketing blog, which will provide a forum to ask questions, give opinions, and learn more about marketing efforts. Hot Topics and D25 News will continue to be vital sources of information. Issues pertaining to club public relations, websites and social media will be discussed in our public relations blog, PROactivity....

“We” Made a Great Team

We “Explored the Possibilities” for keeping our existing members engaged, attracting new members and chartering new clubs in our efforts to continue being an outstanding district in which to be members. We did it! District 25 surpassed the goals set out by Toastmasters International for being “Distinguished”! On this journey, many of us achieved personal growth, cultivated new friendships, and made lasting memories. Have you noticed the pronoun has been “we”?  That is because it takes a team to be successful and team members to make the work a joy rather than a burden. Thank you for the privilege of...

You Made the Difference!

You did it!  District 25 is a Distinguished district for the fourth year in a row. With more than 90 Distinguished clubs, D25 greatly exceeded even the President’s Distinguished standard (73 clubs). Such outstanding results demanded many valuable contributions from you and each of the district’s more than 3,000 members! Please take a moment to reflect on your achievement and what it required: You and other club members made time to read manuals; plan and complete assignments; wear the many hats of a Toastmaster in meetings; mentor other members; and uphold the 10 promises of a Toastmaster.   Club officers attended...

Phi Rappa Yappa Hadda Open House

Phi Rappa Yappa Club #6497 held an open house on Thursday, June 13 at the new club location, 1600 Corporate Ct #140, Irving. The toastmaster was our own Mark Parrish, club president.   We had two speakers for the meeting; an Ice Breaker from a newer member who signed up just a month ago, and a more seasoned speaker with a speech from an advanced manual. Both speeches were GREAT and showed the visitors how Toastmasters can help you grow.  Table Topicsmaster Cindy Warmbrodt was able to get members and guests involved with a nifty idea using fortune cookies.  The general...

Learn “How to Catch and Keep Members” by hooking them with good meetings and reeling them in with member engagement. We will also discuss how to continually...

BOG – Boots on the Ground

Boots on the Ground: Idiom, the ground forces actually fighting in a war or conflict at the time of speaking, rather than troops not being engaged or being transported to the fighting. I first became aware of the acronym BOG when one of my Facebook friends landed in Iraq. Her blog was entitled BOG. I gave this phrase some thought over these past few weeks as our Toastmasters year rushed to its close. I kept thinking of myself as the field commander marshaling the troops for a great offensive, fighting to make our clubs and our district Distinguished by the...
