Dear Toastmaster,
In May, Toastmasters International announced its plans to revitalize the education program, one of the most significant initiatives in recent years. Applications are now being accepted for program Ambassadors, who will play a vital role in the project.
Each Ambassador will be assigned up to 10 clubs within a district (1,458 Ambassadors in all). To be an Ambassador, you must be a skilled and enthusiastic speaker and communicator, able to build excitement and support for the Revitalized Education Program.
Ambassadors will make two visits to each of the clubs assigned to them. They will educate their fellow members about the program, update them regularly on the progress of the revitalization effort, answer their questions, and spread the word about the program’s benefits for Toastmasters.
Throughout this process, Ambassadors will work closely with the fellow Ambassadors in their district, as well as with their Chief Ambassador.
Ambassadors will serve from September 2013 through September 2014. Any member can apply for this volunteer position, as long as he or she meets two of the following requirements:
Be a Toastmaster for more than year
Be a Toastmaster who has served as a mentor
Be a Toastmaster who belongs to more than one club
Be a current or past club officer
Be a current or past area governor
Be a current or past division governor
Applicants must also have a sponsor, a Toastmaster who can serve as a reference and attest to their skills. Applicants must ask this person to complete a sponsor form.
Ambassador applications will remain open until July 26. The application form and sponsor form can both be found on the Ambassador webpage. If you have questions, please email educationprogram@toastmasters.org.
This is a chance to participate in a project that will benefit countless Toastmasters in the coming years!
Sincerely,
International President John Lau
