Welcome to a bright new year in District 25 Toastmasters! I am excited about exploring the possibilities of Toastmasters with you as we go forward into the new year.

Brian Tracy, self-help author and motivational speaker, said, “The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.”

This year I want each member to explore the possibilities waiting to be released within ourselves and within our clubs. What unexplored potential within ourselves will we develop this year to lead us to greater personal or professional satisfaction? What leadership potential can we discover within our clubs that will help them grow into healthier, more vibrant, more successful ones? Let’s explore the possibilities within ourselves and within our clubs that will make this the best Toastmasters year ever!

Let’s also explore beyond ourselves. Search beyond the confines of past experience to explore the greater world of Toastmasters. So much exists beyond the club level! Myriad leadership opportunities can be found in our Area, Division, and District activities. Sign up as a test speaker or practice a speech to deliver at a contest. Volunteer to help with or to chair a speech contest. Help with a pre-charter/demo meeting or mentor a new club. Serve on the Fall Conference Committee or give a presentation for a TLI. We can learn so much when we step outside our clubs to experience the many opportunities offered in District 25.

Beyond District 25 Toastmasters International offers even wider possibilities. I invite you to attend the Toastmasters International Convention in Orlando, Florida, August 15-18. Walk across the stage with District 25 leaders when District 25 is honored. Help us celebrate our Distinguished District status for 2011-2012, and commit together to making our District the best that it can be in the upcoming year.

What new possibilities will you explore this year that will help you to grow and to succeed beyond your dreams? What possibilities will you encourage your club to explore?
