What does your club’s website look like? Is it an asset? Does it work to bring in prospective members to your meetings? Do visitors say “I found your site and your club looked appealing, so here I am?” Flagship Speakers won the Club Website award at the spring 2013 conference. If the answer is yes, your club has a good chance of winning a prize in the D25 Club Website Contest at the Fall Conference on Nov 16. If the answer is no, there is plenty of time to rectify the situation! We’ve beefed up the rewards this year: First,...

Potential members should have attained the CC/CL designation. Keep Growing!
Opening Ceremony with flags from represented countries. I’ve always heard that Toastmasters is a huge International organization but I never realized how powerful the International presence was until I went to the International convention. I got to meet people from all over the world who were all united by their love for Toastmasters. One thing that I thought was unique about an International Toastmasters Convention was how friendly everyone was. I’ve been to many other conventions in the past, but being at a convention with 3,000 fellow toastmasters, no one is ever lost for words. Elevator rides were never quiet...
Ready, Set, GO . . .
Outside the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attending district leadership training and the Toastmasters International Convention in Cincinnati was a wonderful experience. I was able to gain new insights from district leaders from around the world. Toastmasters everywhere have the same objective; to become better communicators and leaders! What a fabulous reminder that our organization helps people everywhere! One of the highlights of the convention was supporting the District 25 International Speech Contestant, DJ Swinyar. The competition at this level is extremely tough. DJ gave an outstanding presentation! I know he will be back representing D25 in the...

It’s Parliamentary, My Dear Watson
Don’t know when to call for the question or in what order to take a vote when there are amendments to amendments of the main motion? What does it mean when someone calls for “orders of the day”? How do you get a motion that has been tabled brought back to the floor? Who the heck was Robert anyway and why did he make so many rules?
