As a new member of Toastmasters International, I decided to “Get on Board” and get exposure to the broader Toastmasters community that’s available to members like me. I was encouraged by my mentor and club officers to attend, and they took every advantage to fully submerge me in the experience. From carrying the banner for our club in the opening parade, to being a proxy delegate in the business meeting, and finally being a part of the dignitary parade for the final dinner and DTM ceremony, I got to fully experience the D25 Fall Conference.
I was overwhelmed by the warm reception for first timers. What I enjoyed most was the direct access to the leadership. Within the first hours of the conference, I was able to meet and get to know the top dignitaries and conference leadership for District 25. This level of access made me feel significant, and it truly set the stage for an amazing experience throughout the conference. And despite their heavy responsibilities and busy schedules, I felt like everyone was genuinely accessible and interested in getting to know me and to understand my purpose for being there.
The conference was a whirlwind of celebrations, education, introductions and networking. It was a great experience for me, and I felt honored as a first timer. Meeting so many great people has really opened my eyes to the opportunities that are available through Toastmasters International. The conference has inspired me to set my goals and accelerate towards them. I feel that the relationships that were started at the conference are the beginning of a great journey for me in Toastmasters, and the start of a great new chapter in both my professional and personal life.
Sincerely,
Jason Cartwright/First Timer
