Roanoke Texas Toastmasters: Helping Students “Find Their Voice”

Find Your Voice.  It’s the slogan on the blue Toastmasters tote bag that my husband, David Roth, recently gave me. I have been pondering that slogan as I witness new member after new member rise to give their ice breaker speech, venture into a new leadership role on the schedule, or share some of their wit and wisdom during Table Topics. It’s truly rewarding to witness the process of discovery of each member’s ‘voice’ through their involvement in the Toastmasters program.

Roanoke Texas Toastmasters Youth Leadership group

Throughout October and November Chuck Mencke, Diana Patton, and myself, Nicole Roth, will have just such an opportunity as we launch an eight week Youth Leadership program for nine courageous young students ranging in age from 7-13 (the program is open to students from 7-17).

These students will learn Parliamentary procedure, test out new speaking skills, and most importantly, move one step closer to finding their own voice as they grow and mature into influential leaders within our culture.

What a fantastic environment to do so within the warm, nurturing atmosphere provided through the Toastmasters program.

I am so thankful to be a part of such a great local club that is willing and ready to share their time and talents to help our future leaders find their voice, my daughters included. Thanks, Roanoke Texas Toastmasters!
