Did someone say there was an Open House? Yes, there was. Off The Cuff club had an Open House meeting on Saturday, February 23rd. We had 16 members and four visitors in attendance.
Our meeting was held this time at the home of Marylee and David Mims, gracious and wonderful hosts. The evening began with a wonderful social hour potluck dinner, with a variety of dishes to tempt the taste buds; cheese, fruit, salad, lasagna, Chuck Mencke’s very well-put-together enchiladas, and several desserts to round it out.
Tracy Speyer started the meeting with a little inspiration and visitor introductions. Fun Master Diana Patton got the group going with some fun word play. We enjoyed four speeches that were motivating, inspirational and fun. One of our visitors, Anthony Hutch from MidCities Achievers, honored us with an impromptu speech. Topicsmaster Chuck Mencke inspired some interesting stories with a roll of the dice. The evaluations enlightened not only the speakers but gave guidance to us all. Timer Cindy Warmbrodt helped us to stay on task and Bill Erwin aced the Posture Monitor’s report.
Off the Cuff meets once a month on the 4th Saturday, and a more fun bunch of people you may never meet. Find out more about our club here. We had such a good time at this open house that we have decided to have another one on March 23rd! We will be meeting a little earlier than we normally do because we are going to be at the Baker Building on the Texas Wesleyan University campus, right after the Marketing Workshop. We’ll have our social time and food at 4:00 pm and start the meeting at 5:00. Hope you will be able to join us!
