The Art of Effective Evaluation:
The Good, The Bad and The Stupendous!

Evaluations go to the heart of the Toastmasters club. The key to evaluations is understanding not only how to give one, but why they benefit. This presentation will cover the good; why evaluations are good for everyone, the bad; what points detract from a good evaluation, and the stupendous; skills need to get you the blue
ribbon.

Susan Carson holds a PhD and is the founder of “SMART Leadership Coaching”. She is a scientist, IFC-trained coach, and author. This year, she is serving District 25 as the Club Retention Chair.

Celebrate Being Distinguished!

Why do you want to have a Distinguished club? How can your club become Distinguished? This session will remind us of the “why”. With the aid of seasoned Distinguished club officers, you will learn valuable nuggets to help you and your club achieve this goal.

Joyce is a dedicated and active member of District 25. She has held many roles and currently serves as the District Outreach Chair.

Emotional Intelligence:  Your Superpower!

Do you want to uncover your superpower? You can! This session identifies the four unique elements of emotional intelligence; demonstrates how self-awareness translates into better communication, lower conflict, and better team relationships; and shows how emotional intelligence can determine success at work, in relationships, and improve physical well-being.

Bindu is a newly minted DTM, holds an MS in Psychology, certified PMP, and Yoga instructor. She is also a passionate believer in Toastmasters Youth Leadership and avid Gavel Club supporter.

Efficient and Fair Meetings with
Parliamentary Procedures

Do you want answers on how to properly handle issues like nominating and electing club officers, voting on a budget, and adopting your own club rules? This session is on how to use parliamentary procedure and the rules that govern Toastmasters clubs in order to have efficient meetings and protect your members’ rights.

Jodie Sanders and Cindy Hinckley, both past district directors and professional registered parliamentarians, bring years of Toastmasters experience and extensive parliamentary knowledge to this enlightening and unusual workshop.

Being part of a team is not simply about a title or a specific role that is filled; it’s about building healthy relationships while adding value, virtue, and character for the greater good of fulfilling a purpose and achieving a common goal. The common goal is better realized and accomplished when a healthy team operates from a foundation of trust.

Harriet works in the mortgage industry and has earned her BS in Organizational Management. She currently serves as Area 24 Director  and is also active in her church and volunteers with a prison ministry.

Mentorship: Making Membership More Meaningful

Using Pathways Mentoring Methods, this session addresses relationship development, expectations, responsibility and duty setting, and  goal setting. These skills are beneficial to those new to the mentoring process as well as those seeking to expand their mentoring toolbox.

Emily is a seasoned Toastmaster who has mentored members and clubs in 3 countries and several states across the U.S. She currently serves D25 as the Club Quality Chair.

You the Platinum Level Leader: Mentoring

How do we make mentoring the lifeblood of our clubs? Good mentoring is good teaching and good teaching is good leading. The best mentors teach with their hearts and their minds. Why? Come to this session and discover that secret, get inspired, and unleash the platinum level leader that resides in you.

Fursey has taught theater, speech, and student leadership for over 25 years, including 3 years teaching theater in Shanghai, China. He’s earned his BFA and MFA from UT Austin and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. He’s currently the Assistant Principal at Azle High School.

Being a team member is reality for everyone. We are members of teams comprised of family members, co-workers, our circle of friends, and Toastmasters. Whether new to the team environment or new to team leadership, or you
just want to improve the function of your current team, this workshop has something for everyone, at every level.

Jen first heard of Toastmasters while doing mission work in Liberia. She’s been active since 2011 and has served on all types of teams; personally, professionally, nationally, and internationally. She currently serves as the Divison C Director and brings enthusiasm along with her expertise to every endeavor.

Allan Pickering has been a Toastmaster since 2013, and achieved his DTM in 2018. Has served in multiple roles for the district and this year serves as the Program Support Chair, an inaugural role for Toastmasters. His experience and passion for the Toastmaster program makes him the ideal individual to fill this role, and to bring all the latest information directly to you.
