D25 wants to recognize those individuals who go above and beyond for our members. Our August Outstanding Member is Bill Smith.

Bill joined Toastmasters in May 2016 as a charter member of Something to Talk About in Mineral Wells. Since then, he has joined two additional clubs, serves as a club officer in two of them, and also serves as the Division A Director.

In his role as Division Director, he faced a challenge almost immediately. Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, two of his Area Directors had to step aside from their roles; one in July and one in August.  Along with one of his fellow club members, he made sure the first new AD was trained, turned in all the paperwork, and made their first club visits. For the second new AD, he worked alongside as the transition was made, ensuring once again that paperwork was filed on time, and knowledge was shared. Because of his dedication, both new ADs were instated in time to be eligible for the year of service credit.
