The evening started with a group that was inquisitive about the coming event!  Although they had competed at the Area and Division levels, the District level brought about a sense of cautious optimism.  The first contest was for Speech Evaluation.  We proceeded through the briefings without a hitch.  The contest started on time… something we all strive for throughout the contest season!

Our Test Speaker, Angela Butler, was fabulous!  She shared about something many of us had no idea existed… Sleep paralysis… who knew.  Many walked away thinking… “Oh, that’s what that is!”  Thanks to Angela for her courage to step up to the plate and willingness to be evaluated “7” times!

We were appreciative of all of our Evaluators and their willingness to share their feedback.  It takes courage to give feedback… even more so in front of a larger audience than a typical club.  Kudos to each of you for your participation!

The next contest was the Humorous speech.  WOW!!!  All were great stories!!!  We have some very talented people in District 25!  Again, we are appreciative of the contestants effectively competing at the District level.  You all were marvelous and competed well.

Many thanks to the Judges and helpers, who make all these events run flawless!  Thanks to the Trio for the examples you provide and your Leadership!  And thanks to my predecessors.. Allan Pickering and Steve Blake!  You guys ROCK!
