On Thursday evening June 16, Highway to Excellence Toastmasters Club 3332446 honored Distinguished Toastmaster Michael Sheridan as he made his farewell tour before moving to his new home in Florida. The club recognized Sheridan for his outstanding leadership in District 25 and especially in Highway to Excellence. Following a special presentation in praise of Sheridan, Club President Kathy Brewer presented him with a commemorative gold gavel paperweight in recognition of his service and contributions.

At the District level, Sheridan has been very generous with his time and talents. He served as an Area Governor, created the PowerPoints to accompany our Awards Banquets, filmed video footage to promote District 25, and made other contributions too numerous to mention. In addition, he provided outstanding leadership as our Club Extension Chair for the past three years. Our new clubs during that period owe their strong start to the excellent demo meetings he organized. Well spoken, kind, and tactful, Sheridan has always represented our district in a professional manner.

Sheridan served as president of Highway to Excellence as the club redefined its mission and changed its name to more accurately reflect its goals. He was the driving force in promoting high level workshop sessions to speed members to the top on their Toastmasters journey. Sheridan truly engineered the Highway to Excellence for our advanced club.

One of our members said, “Michael has always displayed the core values of Toastmasters: Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence. What more can you say about a person?” We know that with his sense of humor, character, dedication to excellence, and commitment to leadership, Sheridan will find new friends who appreciate him as much as we do here in District 25. Highway to Excellence, along with District 25, wishes Mike Sheridan every happiness, every success, and most of all good health as he leaves this place, where he is respected, honored, and loved.
