What a Great Finale to the 2014 Contest Season!

Fellow Toastmasters,

Our 2014 fall contest season concluded on Friday, November 14, with the Speech Evaluation contest and Saturday, November 15, with the Humorous Speech contest.

The competitors for the Speech Evaluation contest included:

  • Regina Clay, Truckin’ Toastmasters, Division E

Our Test Speaker, Paul Meyer, First Rate Toastmasters, received six excellent evaluations.

Third Place – Jason Reynolds, ARBOR Toastmasters

The Humorous Speech contest competitors included:

  • Robin Ghio, Arlington Nooners, Division C
  • Rebecca Harvey, Airport Toastmasters, Division F
  • Mario Stresow, Grace Club, Division B
  • Lee Tyler, ARBOR Toastmasters, Division D

The contestants had the members laughing as they put on a fantastic show. The winners of the Fall 2014 Humorous Speech Contest were:

First Place – Robin Ghio, Arlington Nooners
Second Place – Ken Davey, BNSF Expressed
Third Place – Rebecca Harvey, Airport Toastmasters

You should have been at the contests – attendees saw amazing, uplifting evaluations with specific items that taught the test speaker as well as the members present how to improve an already excellent speech. The humorous speeches had attendees rolling in their seats with laughter because each contestant provided human, relatable, humorous speeches.

I want to encourage everyone to stretch themselves to participate in the Area and Division contests during the spring contest season. It is going to be a blast because “D25 Rocks!”
