In 2012 Belinda Mays, from Quicksilver Express won the Tall Tales Division A contest with a speech entitled “My Amazing Dad”. This month with the encouragement of fellow toastmaster Karen Hagar from Fighter Enterprise, Belinda published a children’s book based on that speech.

 “Dads are amazing! In the eyes of a child, a dad can do anything, fix everything and is always there. But what happens when dads encounter a challenge? Sometimes we learn that even amazing dads aren’t perfect.”

The book is dedicated to Belinda’s father, Berkins Booker Jr., of Beaumont Texas who passed away in February 2013.
