On March 25, USB Texas Toast had 5 guests attend their Open House. Carrie Kang was the Toastmaster of the day for the “Springtime Fun” themed lunchtime meeting.

The Table Topics Master Bret Daughtry helped to show the guests about impromptu speaking with well thought up questions. The visitors and members were treated to a speech from Stacy Workman. During the meeting, visitors were shown that improving the ability to speak publicly is just one aspect of Toastmasters. Guests were able to see that evaluations were a way to offer recommendations for improvement as well as reinforcing speaker’s strengths. Visitors also received details about the other roles that are part of the meetings.

The club secretary Kellie Leyba, came up with a wonderful idea for refreshments with ice cream sundaes with all the fixin’s. It was a refreshing and fun Open House Meeting resulting in the gain of four new members.
