District 25’s Toastmaster Leadership Institute (TLI) is now available for Pre-Registration online. The schedule of dates is here. Elective sessions and club officer classes are available for anyone who wishes to broaden their knowledge.
Electives
- Club Renewal Policy Change: Do you belong to a small club with fewer than 12 members? Per Toastmasters International policy, the minimum number of members for club renewal will change in April, 2014, from six to eight members. Find out how your club can prepare and what district resources are available to help.

- Judges Training and Re-certification of Judges: Attend this training to become a certified contest judge. A huge number of trained judges are needed to fill the contest matrix for district speech contests. Learning what judges are looking for can be beneficial for contestants and those who wonder, “Why did that speech win?”. Trained judges needing re-certification should attend the first hour of training.

- Chief Judge Training: This is your opportunity to explore the duties of a Chief Judge. You will learn the ins and outs of the judging procedures of a contest. Attending this training qualifies you to serve as a Chief Judge at speech contests.

- Contest Success: Whether you are a planning a contest or are a contestant, this session will provide valuable tips for success. Learn about how to prepare for a successful quality contest. In addition, a previous D25 Tall Tales winner will share his experiences & tips.

- Alternative Leadership Training: Have you served as a club officer again and again and again? You can attend this session to have a fresh perspective of your opportunity to serve your club as an officer. This class is only for officers who have previously attended officer training for the office they will be serving.

- How to Conduct Productive Meetings: Learn the techniques and dynamics for conducting a meeting in ANY group. This is a session that is open to all members. Materials presented are from the Success/Leadership program.

- Mentoring: What does it mean to be a mentor? What information should you share with your mentee? How much time is normally involved in being a mentor? What educational tools would be a valuable resource for you as a mentor? Mentoring is an opportunity to grow personally as you help a fellow member begin (or improve upon) their Toastmasters journey. CL credit is also available to a mentor.

- Basic Website: FreeToastHost: Find out how to make your FreeToastHost site a useful tool for bringing visitors to your club. Create an inviting and informative home page. Express your club’s personality! Make it easy for potential members to find you. Bring your laptop and admin password to class so you can log into your FTH site. If your club does not yet have a site, please contact Jodie Sanders at JodieSanders@d25toastmasters.org before the class date.
Note: Dec 14 and Jan 18 will have WiFi access. Jan 10 session will not have WiFI access.
- Beyond the Basics of FreeToastHost and Other Media Resources: There’s more to your FreeToastHost site than what’s on the home page! Add more pages for photos and club information. Organize documents for download. Set up meeting agendas ahead of time so members can sign up for roles. Then find out how to use social media like Facebook and Meetup to broaden your club’s reach. Bring your laptop and passwords for sites you already have to class so you can log in.

- Making the Most of an Evaluation: Whether you are the evaluator or the one who is being evaluated, there is much to be found in a quality evaluation. Come and find out what benefits can be included in an evaluation and how you can grow in listening and leadership skills through evaluation.

- Reaching DCP Goals: What does the Distinguished Club Program and goal setting have to do with your club? Share the benefits of setting club goals and learning leadership skills as you do. Find ways to recognize members for contributing to club goals as they reach individual milestones on their Toastmaster journey.
