                                                                                                                        Many of you are aware that in December of each year, a Toastmasters couple undergo a miraculous transformation. They become Santa and Mrs. Claus. For years, Chuck and Terry Mencke has donned their apparel and visited Toastmasters clubs, children’s homes, civic organizations and church groups spreading cheer. Last year they made 38 appearance in 3 weeks.

This year, Santa won’t be making as many. He is having surgery on his knee in a few weeks. Why now? “This one is free,” he shrugged. “I already met my medical deductible when I had the other done earlier this year.”
 
He insists that all is well at the North Pole and the elves and he have had plenty of time to work out all the details. And yes, he will be home for Christmas.
 
All of us in District 25 wish Santa, and Mrs. Claus who will have to keep him quiet a while so he can heal, the very best.
