The USB Texas Toast Club #1737405 held an Open House on March 27, chaired by Bradley Lawhead. Bradley’s co-chairs included Rebecca Moore, Pat Avinger and Felicia Christian. The toastmaster for the early evening meeting was Rebecca Moore and the theme was “Come One, Come All.”

USB Texas Toast is a corporate club, part of US Bank, meeting at the Irving, Texas site; we meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 4:00 to 5:00. The club is only about a year old, but has some strong members.

The Open House was well received with 7 guests attending. Table Topicsmaster Nicole Love showed our guests about impromptu speaking with some very well-planned questions. Attendees were treated to speeches from Bradley Lawhead and Felicia Christian.

The guests were shown how improving as a public speaker is just one aspect of Toastmasters. They were able to see that evaluations are a way to offer recommendations for improvement, and also to reinforce a speaker’s strengths. Details were given about the other roles that are part of the meetings.

Club President Rebecca Moore brought the meeting to a close by presenting our own Bradley Lawhead with his certificate for Superior Service for Area 61 as VP of Education for USB Texas Toast.
